One User's Story....
"I
am proud to have helped James move his company
across several states!" History of ANACS, America’s Oldest
Grading Service™
ANACS moved in April, using the
Small Company Moving Guide – in their case they
moved in the spring instead of the snow of winter
or the beastly heat of summer. When I followed up with James,
here’s what he shared with me about his
cross-country moving experience: ANACS’ move to Austin was
thoroughly planned. “We left our Dublin, Ohio
office open and staffed for several weeks after
the Austin, Texas office opened and was fully
operational.”
“It's
the move that I wish I could forget!!! Actually,
things went well--not perfectly--but well enough
so I still have my job!!!! What got my attention
was when you wrote how many people lose or quit
their job because of an unsuccessful move. I took
that as a challenge. Before studying your book I
thought moving a business was like moving your
home, just a bit more complicated: movers packed
you up, loaded the truck, drove away and after a
few days unpacked you. We also made special arrangements
for the Dublin, Ohio Post Office to immediately
forward to Austin all packages that were sent to
our old address. If
you want to close your business down for a couple
of months you could probably approach it this way.
But if you want
to move on a Friday and be up and running sometime
on Monday, you better think long and hard about it
and consider doing everything in The Small Company
Moving Guide. “
